A July Wedding on the Vineyard

Every time I receive an inquiry and later realize the bride is also a wedding planner, I get SO excited!

Jillian is a Boston girl who plans weddings in Southern California – sounds familiar! She fell in love with a professional hockey player, Joe, and their unique love story instantly captured my attention. My favorite part about their wedding was that she actually shipped her flowers from California to the Martha’s Vineyard Island… that’s kinda unheard of haha.

On one of the hottest days of the year, Jillian and Joe, who looked flawless, tied the knot at the Old Whaling Church followed by their reception at the Daniel Fisher House. To bring an Italian feel to their wedding, they had everything from olive oil as favors on every plate to a family-style dinner. The food was so bright and colorful, everything you would ever want on a summer evening.

To top it all off, their band was incredible. At one point her brother, who was the runner up on The Voice, jumped up with the band and sang a few songs. It was so sweet!

For those of you who have never been to the Daniel Fisher House, it sits along the main street in downtown Edgartown. Everyone passing by can’t help but stop, look, and even dance along to the music. It is quite a sight to see.

I loved working with Jillian and Joe on their big day, it was absolutely stunning. Even a year later, you can still taste the food and hear the music through these gorgeous photos.
