Juicing: A quarantine hobby

I started juicing towards the beginning of 2020, and when Covid-19 hit, I went crazy over it. Once a week, I would hit the farmers market (or Trader Joes when those were shut down) and buy the brightest oranges and lemons I could find. My husband would laugh at me because all my reusable bags would nearly break on our walk home. When we got home, I would then put them all in the sink and scrub them clean. Our kitchen was insane on Monday mornings!

One of my favorite juices to make was a wellness shot. Here is what you need:

  • (1) Orange
  • (1) lemon
  • (1″) of ginger

Juice everything into a shaker and mix with ice. To top it off sprinkle on some cayenne pepper! Gives you that little extra kick in the morning.

If you are feeling a little risky, salt the edge of your glass with black lava salt and add vodka to your shaker. It’s the most perfectly healthy cocktail πŸ™‚

Later in the year, I started experimenting with celery because of all the health benefits. Full disclosure I absolutely hated celery, but it turns out you get used to the earthy flavor after our tenth glass, haha. When my sister moved to the Vineyard, I even got her hooked on this mean green veggie.

Here is what you will need for this!! It’s my favorite after a hard workout.

  • (1) Orange
  • (1/2) Lemon
  • (1″) of Ginger
  • (3) Stalks of celery

Juice together Shake over ice (add cayenne pepper if you want to spice things up)!

Get creative with your juices but be sure to DM me your recipes πŸ™‚
