Natasha and Colin’s wedding at the Harbor View Hotel in October 2023 was truly a unique and unforgettable event. The bride gave Sandy, their wedding planner, total creative freedom, which allowed for the wedding to stand out from the rest.
Colin and the bride have been together for 8.5 years, since they were 18 years old. They spent their first trip as a couple together on MV the summer they first began dating. The island has always held a special place in their hearts for that reason and because Colin grew up visiting his grandparents every summer in Edgartown. They’ve long dreamed of getting married here, so they chose the Harbor View Hotel as their wedding venue, where Colin’s grandparents were married.
Sandy wanted to add unique elements to the wedding to make it truly special. One example of a unique element was a custom flag with the couple’s monogram for the top of the tent. The couple’s dogs were also used as inspiration for a custom-built escort card display. Sandy even designed the flatlays herself, adding her own personal touch to the wedding.
The escort card display had a sketch of the couple’s dogs and oysters with guests’ names. This was another nod to the couple’s love for getting oysters together on the island. The invitation suites had a lighthouse cutout and a sketch of their wedding venue, showcasing their love for the island’s natural beauty.
The couple wanted to incorporate the beauty of the island into their wedding decor, so they had berries and fruit on the tables, like the ones found in the bushes walking to the beach. They also had market lights and lots of candles to mimic the moon bouncing off the ocean at night, a reflection of their love for taking beach walks on the Vineyard and in Rhode Island.
Natasha’s mom is a wedding dress seamstress, so she made sure that her daughter’s wedding dress was perfect. It was amazing having Natasha’s mom be part of the process since she knows all about dresses!
Overall, Natasha and Colin’s wedding was a beautiful reflection of their love for each other and their love for the island. It was a truly special and unforgettable event that will be remembered by all who attended.
