Martha’s Vineyard

Everyday when driving to work I would think, could life get any better. I would look to my right to see the lagoon and to the left would be the Atlantic Ocean. I was surrounded by salt air and amazing sunsets.

I worked at one of the main hotels on the island called the Harbor View in the event department. I had no idea what I was in for when landing this job but knew I had to leave my corporate life for this new adventure. Good thing I did because I would not be where I am today without this experience. We had two weddings a weekend and at least two corporate events during the week. To say the least, I was one busy boss babe working some pretty luxurious events.

One of my favorite weddings while working at this hotel took place on a rainy November day back in 2014. The ground was soaked and the sky was gray. However, the entire bridal party had a smile on their face because nothing was going to ruin this bride’s moment.

Her ceremony was outside and they insisted on using umbrellas to go down the aisle. Let me tell you… these photos were out of this world. The reception was held in a tent on the Harbor View’s Great Lawn. They had hardwood floors installed and rows of farm tables with thousands of candles running down the middle. On each setting they had lavender sprigs with a place card. The smell of lavender, rain and candles everywhere is something everyone needs to experience. After dinner everyone moved inside to the Lighthouse Grill where the real party began. Champagne flowing and dancing seemed to be the theme for the next few hours. It was quite a sight to see.

This wedding holds a special place in my heart as it was towards the end of my season at the venue. The Harbor View Hotel taught me nearly almost all the skills I needed to start my own company. It was here where I saw the hustle and bustle of famous wedding planners that made me want to start my own business. I wanted to be a boss babe and be traveling the world putting on exquisite events. So I did it. In 2015 the following year I launched Timeless Event Planning in San Diego and never looked back!
